Our Commitment to Privacy

The privacy of the personal information of its member/users (“you’) is a high priority on X-voter.com.  To assist the management of X.voter.com (“us” or “we”) to better protect your privacy we have formulated and implemented this Privacy policy (“Policy”) explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used.  To make this notice easy to find, we make it available from our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.

The Information We Collect

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the X-Voter.com website.  On some pages, you can register as a member, order services or materials, or make certain requests.  The types of personal information that may be collected at these pages are:

  • Phone number
  • Credit/Debit Card Information
  • Other personal information, as required or requested

On other pages, you may submit written information about your political views or vote on certain issues.

As we add services and require additional information from you, we will appropriately update this Policy.

The Way We Use Information:

We use the information you provide about yourself when becoming a member in order to verify you identity and to charge your credit card.  We do not share this information with outside parties.

When you vote in the referendum or on future issues, we collect this information and distribute it to elected government representatives, clients requesting poll information  and the general public only in compiled format, i.e., as results by political jurisdiction with the votes of all other members of X-voter.com.  Your individual voting record is never disclosed.

We use return email addresses as your login name, to inform you of poll results, or other member announcements, and to answer the email we may receive from you.  Such addresses are not used for any other purpose, and we do not share, or sell, your email address or other personal information with outside parties.

Your inputs into either the “Weblog” or “Forum” areas of the website are identified by your first name and last initial, as you must be responsible for making clear, clean, non-inflammatory submissions to the website.  Your last name and contact details are never disclosed.  All X-voter.com members who submit information to the “Weblog” and “Forum” must realize that all such information may be viewed by any other member of X-voter.com and the general public visiting our website.

We use non-identifying and aggregate demographic information (gender, age, ethnicity, employment status, income level, religious preference, etc.) to better design our website, our referendum polls and information presented to elected government representatives, clients requesting poll information, and the general public.  For example, politicians may request aggregate demographic information related to certain issues, such as “what percentage of X-voter.com members who voted on a certain ‘woman’s issue’ were women, etc.”

Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.  However, if required by a court or properly authorized government agency according to formal proceeding, we will disclose only information that is requested, and notify you, if legally permissable, of the information disclosed and the court or agency requiring such information.

Traffic Data

In addition to the above personal information input by you, each time you or any visitor comes to the X-voter.com website, or servers (in fact, most servers used on commercial websites) collect basic technical information, including the visitors domain name, browser platform type, any URL referral data, as well as other such information.  We also count, track and aggregate the visitor’s activity into our analysis of general traffic flow to, from and within our website.  We use such information for our own purposes in the design and improvement of our website.  We do not such any personal information gathered in this way with any third party.

Use of X-voter.com cookies

A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a Web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive.  We use cookies in a limited way to identify unique browsers that visit us and to track usage throughout our site. We may collect usage information with the cookies for our members in order to resolve website problems or problems related to those users.  Cookie information is not shared with any third party, unless generic information is requested by our website host company in order to resolve technical problems.

Our Commitment to Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.  We subscribe to Verisign’s 128-bit data encryption service when receiving personal information from you, and use the data encryption provided by authorize.net when verifying your credit card information and charging your account.

Our Commitment to Children’s Privacy:

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important.  For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 18, and no part of our website is available for input by anyone under 18.

How You Can Access OR Correct Your Information

You can access all of your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain by logging into your account, going to the Registration Page and checking the status of your personal information.  We use this procedure to better safeguard your information.

You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by sending us a request that credibly shows error.

To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identify before granting access or making corrections.
